This solutions article will go over the process of fulfilling and shipping of a Sales Order.
After a Sales Order has been released, you'll proceed with the fulfillment and shipping of the products in the order. This Solution article will walk you through each of the steps to accomplish fulling and then shipping a Sales Order.
Prerequisite: Sales Order must be Released

Step 1: Release Customer Demand
From the menu, select Outbound Logistics Control -> Customer Demand
- Select "All Orders by Selection"
- Search for the sales order number in the search box.
- Select all the line items for the sales order using Shift + Click to highlight multiple lines.
- Click the "Release" button
- Then click "With Stock Check"
Set the release until date to a date after the requested date. Then click Okay
Click the "Refresh" icon in the search box in the upper right corner, the release status column for all line items should be set as "Release". If not, there is not enough stock at the location or the ship from is incorrect on the sales order.
Step 2: Create Warehouse Request
Go to "Outbound Logistics" -> "Delivery Proposals"
- From the drop-down menu, select "Proposal Based on Sales or Service Orders".
- In the search box, enter your sales order number.
- Select the Delivery Proposal
- Click "Create Warehouse Request"
Step 3: Complete Pick Task
Go to the "Execution" work center -> "Outbound Warehouse Tasks"
- Search for the Sales order
- Select the pick task that is associated with your Sales Order
- You can view a pdf of the pick task or print it to a printer.
- Click the "Confirm" button.
On the confirm pick task page, you'll select each line item and set the logistics areas to 1000-10 if it is coming from inventory. You can also click the "Propose Quantities and Logistics Areas" to auto fill the fields if it's the full proposed quantity. If it's only partial, fill in the actual quantity.
- Select the line item
- Set the logistics area to 1000-10
- You can press the "Propose Quantities and Logistics Area" button or fill in the actual quantity.
- Click the "Save" Button
- Click "Close"
If it's a part with a serial number(CMI Parts), you'll need to enter the serial number in the "Serial Numbers" tab at the bottom when the line is selected.
Step 4: Release Outbound Delivery & View Delivery Note
Outbound Deliveries are automatically released - Can follow to view and download Delivery Note
Go to "Outbound Logistics" work center -> "Outbound Deliveries"
In the drop-down box, select "All Outbound Delivery Proposals", then search using the Sales Order number.
Select the line for the Sales Orders Outbound Delivery. You can preview or print the by pressing the "Print Delivery Note", then click "Actions" and then click "Release"
- Search for and then select the Outbound Delivery line
- Preview or print the delivery note by pressing "Print Delivery Note"
- Click the "Actions" button
- Click "Release"
Below is an example of the Delivery Note. If prices are needed for the customer to sign the delivery note, print out the sales order and attach a copy to the delivery note.
