This Solutions Article will cover the steps to cancel a Sales Order and also the steps to cancel specific line items in a Sales Order without canceling the whole Sales Order.
Every step completed beyond the sales order being released will need to be reversed to allow for changes to be made.

Do not complete the final step, rejecting a sales order, unless you want to completely cancel the sales order.

Canceling Specific Line Items on a Sales Order
If an Invoice has been created, it will need to be canceled.

- Go to the "Sales Order" Work Center
- Search for the Sales Order number
- Click "Edit" to open the sales order
Go to the "Items" tab and if you click on the line item you wish to reject/cancel, then look at the "Details" tab. You can see where the yellow arrows are pointing that you can't make changes to the specific lines since it's in a "Delivery Status:" of "Finished" and the "Reason for Rejection" is grayed out. You can not reject the line till you walk it back from the proceeding documents.
After viewing the details of the line item, click the "Document Flow" tab

Once on the "Document Flow" page, if you click the drop-down box and set it to "Extended View", you can view all of the documents you'll need to reverse the transactions in for the specific line item or items you want to cancel.
- Click the drop-down box and select "Extended View"
- First is the "Outbound Delivery", which will need to be unreleased.
- Confirmations will need to be reversed in the "Warehouse Order"
- The lines will need to be rejected in the "Outbound Delivery Requests"
- Then finally, once we've rejected the lines in the Sales Order, we'll need to verify there is no more customer demand for the material.

Search for the Outbound Delivery ID, then highlight the line and click "Edit"

After canceling the line in the Sales Order, be sure to return and re-release the Outbound Delivery.
You'll then proceed to the Warehouse order to reverse the confirmations.

Search for the Warehouse Order, select the line and click "Edit"
- Click the "Operations" Tab
- Click "Adjustment Confirmation"
Scroll down till you come to the Load Operation Type portion, then highlight the specific Product that you are wanting to reverse. Once you highlight the line, then click the “Enable Entry” button, which will open the line for input. Then select the "Split Quantities" button, which will input a new line for the product. In this line, Input the difference to reduce the Fulfilled Quantity to 0, in this case it would be -8 ea. You can do this for each line, then click the “Save” button.

- Highlight the new "Split Quantities" line
- Input the difference, example -8ea for this line
- Change the logistics area. If you do not change the Source Logistics Area, then the stock will stay in the Staging area (1000-12). Click “Save” then close – You can do multiple lines before clicking save.
Customer Propert/CMI Parts Only: There will be a "Serial Numbers" tab next to the General Tab section at the bottom. Select this tab and "Remove" the serial number in order to adjust the quantity.
If you have multiple lines with the same product, you can verify the line item number from the sales order by scrolling down to the “General” tab and looking at the ID number next to the “Reference” field.

After reversing the confirmation(s), you then need to reject the items in the delivery request.

Search for the Delivery Request and click the "Edit" button.
- Click the "Line Items" tab
- Select the Line - You can select multiple lines to reject by holding down shift and clicking.
- Click the "Reject" button
- After clicking reject, verify the Total Open Quantity is reduced to 0 ea and the rejected status has changed to "Rejected"
- Click "Save and Close"
Once you have saved and closed the delivery request after rejecting the lines, you’ll be able to reject the line items in the Sales Order now. You can either search for the Sales Order in the Sales Order work center or if you went to the delivery request via the document flow, you’ll be brought back to the Sales Order.
On the Sales Order page, click the “Items” tab and then highlight the line you wish to cancel. Once you highlight it, down in the details section, you should now be able to adjust the “Reason for Rejection” and pick reason in the drop-down box.
Please be aware, that once you select a "Reason for Rejection", the line is rejected and can't be un-rejected.
After rejecting all the lines that need canceling, click the “Save” button. Then, you’ll need to click the “Submit” button and select “Submit for Approval”. This will update the proceeding document, “Customer Demand”.

- In the “Details” section, select the “Reason for Rejection” drop-down box.
- Select a reason, which will reject the line item.
- Click the "Save" Button
- Click the "Submit" button and "Submit for Approval" for the change to update the "Customer Demand"
You can now check out the customer demand and see that the line items are showing as “Not Released”, “Finished" under the delivery status, and “Canceled” under the cancellation status.
