This solutions article will go over the process for receiving in Inbound Customer Property. 

This process can be used for receiving in an existing piece of customer property that was previously used in a Sales Order or a newly created CMI part that needs to be receiving into Inventory. 


Prerequisites

  • A customer property part number, such as CMI-XXXXXX
    • If a Customer Property part number does not exist, please submit a ticket to IT to create one.  
  • (Optional) An existing Sales Order number

If a CMI part number already exists and was sent out on a Sales Order previously to a customer, you can search for the Sales Order number or Serial number in the provided fields to bring up the line items. 

  • Select the rows that contain the parts that are being returned


If a CMI Part does not exist in the system, click "Next" on the customer return notification. 



The below fields are required on the "Customer Return Delivery Notification" page after hitting next before proceeding. 


  • Enter "Delivery Notification ID" (Must be unique, ex. OKC061819-WORTH2-21H)
  • Enter "Ship-From Well ID" (Can be found in business partners or must be created)
  • Enter "Ship-To Party" (DW)
  • Enter "Ship-To Location" (Your Branch)
  • Enter "Sender" (Company that owns the equipment)
  • Then Click "Add Row" to input CMI part number details OR Leave as is because it pulled it from the Sales Order



For a newly created CMI part number, input the below information for the highlighted fields


  • Sales Order ID: CMI
  • Sales Order Item ID: 1



Under Details, you will click the "Serial Numbers" tab and then click "Add Row". Enter the number (Serial Number) that you will stamp on the equipment to identify it, also called the CMI Number. 


Click "Next" to review the Customer Return Notification details


If it's a part that is returning, verify the Serial Number information. 




After Reviewing, click "Finish and Create Warehouse Request" to create the put away Warehouse Task.

Search "Inbound Tasks not Started" for the CMI return



Select the correct line of the task and then click "Confirm"



Click "Propose Quantities and Logistics Areas". If the Logistics area does not populate, search for the CMI location (Condition Code) you want to put the CMI part into.



If you didn't add the serial numbers in the customer return notification, you can do it here. If the products serial number doesn't exist, you must create it before you can add it to the put away task.  


  • Target Logistics Area ID# 3000-10: NEW
  • Target Logistics Area ID# 3000-11: B Condition
  • Target Logistics Area ID# 3000-12: C Condition
  • Target Logistics Area ID# 3000-13: D Condition
  • Target Logistics Area ID# 3000-14: Junk



When complete, click "Save" and make sure the status is set as "Finished"
