This solution article will cover the process for clearing a browsers cache, which can be used to troubleshoot basic browser related issues.
The browsers that will be covered are the ones that are most commonly found in our environment, which include Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.

Google Chrome
Open the Google Chrome Web Browser
- Click the Three dots in the top right corner
- Hover over "History"
- Once the history panel appears, click "History"
This will open the History menu
- Click on the "Clear Browsing Data' located on the left side.
This will open the "Clear Browser Data" window
- Make sure "Cookies and Other Site Data" and "Cached Images and Files" are checked
- Click the "Clear Data" button
- Close and Reopen the browser
The browser cache has now been cleared
Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer
- Click the Gear symbol on the top Right
- Click on "Internet Options"
The "Internet Options" window should open
- Verify you're on the "General" tab
- Click the "Delete" button
This will open the "Delete Browsing History" window.
- Verify the "Cookies and Website Data" and "Temporary Internet Files and Website Data" are checked
- Click the "Delete" button.
- Close and reopen the browser
The browser cache has now been cleared
Microsoft Edge
Open Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots located on the top right
- Hover over "History" till the extra window appears
- Click "Clear Browsing Data"
The "Clear Browsing Data" window will now be opened
- Adjust the "Time Range" to an appropriate amount (All Time is recommended to make sure it clears everything)
- Verify the "Cookies and Other Site Data" and "Cached Images and Files" are checked marked.
- Click the "Clear Now" button
- Close and reopen the browser
The browser cache has now been cleared.
