This solutions article will go over the Change of Stock process in SAP Business ByDesign.


Change of Stock is used to consolidate products into one product ID, such as converting discontinued parts from a specific vendor into a new part number, or adjusting the status of a product in Stock. 


Change of Stock


Work Center: Internal Logistics

Common Task: Change of Stock


To start, you'll proceed to the Internal Logistics work center and click on the Common Task, "Change of Stock". 


  1. Click on the "Internal Logistics" work center
  2. Click the "Change of Stock" common Task



This will take you to the "Change of Stock" page. 


On here, you'll need to fill in the "Site", "Storage Location", and "Planning Area". Once those are filled in, click the "Add Row" button to include the product that you are needing to change. You can add multiple products and then make sure you fill in the "Logistics Area ID". 


Once filled in, click the next button to go to the next page. 


  1. Fill in the "Site", "Storage Location", and "Planning Area"
  2. Click the "Add Row" button
  3. Fill in the products that need to be change and include the Logistics Area ID
  4. Click the "Next" button



After clicking next, It'll populate with the product ID and the amount that was in that logistics ID area. 


This is where you'll either include the new product number that the stock is being changed over to, which is primarily used when consolidating or transferring parts to a new part number, or uncheck the "Restricted"/"Inspection" stock checkbox to take the product out of the status. 


If it's one being changed from "Inspected" or "Restricted", then leave the "Changed Product" as the current product ID. Then uncheck the "Changed Inspected Status" or "Changed Restricted Status" with the amount that needs to be changed in the "Changed Product ID" column. 


Once finished, click the Next button to review and then finish out the change of stock by confirming it. 


  1. Uncheck or Check the "Changed Inspected Status" or "Changed Restricted Status" checkboxes
  2. Fill in the amount that needs to be changed, 
  3. Change the "Changed Product" if changing a part number or Leave it be if just adjusting the Inspected/Restricted Status
  4. Click the "Next" button to review and confirm
